Drone
shows devastation in Beirut after apocalyptic explosion
The
explosion caused by 2,750 tons of nitrate ammonium
destroyed the port region of Beirut and already
has more than 150 dead
A
video recorded by a drone on wednesday (5th august)
in Beirut, Lebanon, shows the result of the mega
explosion that devastated the city's port on tuesday.
Burning debris and devastated buildings were
recorded by the drone, which passed the coast of
the city.
The
explosion was caused by 2,750 tonnes of
nitrate ammonium, a material that was stored
without the necessary precautionary measures
inside the port, according to Prime Minister
Hassan Diab. The first results of an investigation
are expected to be released within the next five
days.
Uma
grande explosão em um armazém na região do
porto de Beirute, capital do Líbano, deixou mais
de 100 mortos e cerca de 4 mil feridos,
segundo o governo local.
A
major explosion in a warehouse in the port region
of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, left more than
100 dead and about 4,000 injured, according to the
local government.
The
suspicion is that the explosion hit a shed that
held large amounts of ammonium nitrate, a compound
commonly used as fertilizer. About 2,750 tonnes of
this material had been in storage for six years,
according to Prime Minister Hassan Diab.
